Ironwood State Prison, Blythe

A beautiful photograph minus the prison. The mountains and sky are so pristine, so smog-free. For those inmates inside this facility, the primary regrets are, i feel, the inmates sorrow about the decisions made to cost them their freedom. Looking at the beauty outside the walls, the beauty through the fence, is a form of mental torture i fear would drive most inmates insane. What can i say? Stiffer laws? Better parenting? Less laws? How does one compromise the sorrow one feels for these offenders when one recalls the violence committed. Would anger control classes beginning early in life be the answer? Or is this a matter of good vs evil?
